Sometimes, you need to be with your girls. That’s the whole idea behind this Mother’s Day brunch we threw for our Mom Squad. It was a chance to catch up, commiserate, and love on each other a little bit—and, yes, to hide the toys away and leave pretty flowers on low surfaces and eat delicious food that does not include cereal, applesauce, or string cheese. The inspiration? Some Hallmark Signature cards designed by our friends at 100 Layer Cake.
Look up. Look down. Look familiar? The inspiration for our banner came from this card. If anyone deserves to be celebrated, it’s your fellow moms who are there for you and understand the ups and downs of being a parent.
Our DIY crepe paper flowers came from one of creative workshops. Find out how to make your own here.
This fruit and goat cheese bruschetta…oh. OH. It’s so easy to make, gorgeous to look at, and beyond delicious.
If you have a Mother’s Day brunch and there aren’t mimosas—or at least juice served in fancy stemmed glasses—was it really a Mother’s Day brunch? Eeeeeeehhhh…probably not? Also, please gaze upon these perfect champagne flutes by Easy, Tiger. YAY! for adult time.
Quiche is always a great make-ahead dish for a brunch. (We’re big fans of anything that allows us to minimize what we have to do the day of.)
These easy-to-make planter wraps have become our legit favorites—in big and tiny sizes. Decorate the table and then send them home with your friends for a living, growing reminder that you think they’re amazing.
A trip to the bakery filled out the buffet table with some lovely-to-look-at treats. It’s an Insta-worthy table that also meets our daily needs for carbs and sugar.
Paper flowers last forever—just in case there are people in the room who forget to water real plants until it’s far, far too late. [Glances around guiltily.]
Hallmark Signature has Mother’s Day cards perfect for all your mom-friends. Inside, list all the reasons you adore them. Hearing that you’re doing a good job at one of the toughest—albeit amazing and incredibly rewarding—jobs out there is always appreciated.
Cheers to moms and mom friends! We seriously have NO idea what we’d do without them. (Note to self: Schedule more get-togethers.)
