Just Because cards: 100+ ways to make your relationships better

When you work at a place that is 100% about relationships 100% of the time, you learn a lot about how they work and ways to make them better. Hallmark has as many people who work with spreadsheets as with pens and paintbrushes—so what we create often starts with data-fueled research. And that’s the case with these new Just Because cards.

BONUS: Get one of these Just Because cards free every Friday from April 20 through August 31, 2018. All you have to do is stop by a Hallmark Gold Crown store and sign up to be a Crown Rewards member. (If you aren’t already!)

Why you should send a Just Because card

Our research team did a little study about what happens when people send cards. Here’s what they found out:

  • People really do like getting cards.
  • Especially when they don’t expect to.
  • The more unexpected the card, the more it matters.

Getting a card out of the blue, it turns out, can really, truly, turn someone’s day around. AND sending one can make you feel like a better human.

That’s where the brainstorming came in. What are some things we could say to the people in our lives to show we care? Who could use a boost right now? When could a few kind words make someone’s day?

Every single one of these Just Because cards is written and designed specifically to send a little bit of caring into the world. That seems like a pretty important thing to do these days.

When was the last time you sent someone a card or letter “just because”? We’d love to hear your stories. (Seriously. We live for this kind of thing.) Tell us about it in the comments, tag us on Instagram, or share on Facebook!

We’re sending lots of just because cards (and thank-you notes and birthday cards and love letters and so many more) during National Card and Letter Writing Month. Join us, won’t you?
