Here at TMS, we’re big fans of adding some tricks to your treats. So we rounded up some ideas to dress up your Halloween bar cart! These two simple DIYs—Etched Glass Skull Tumblers and a Pick Your Poison Banner—will definitely impress your ghoulish guests. Just print the free templates and read on for more details.
ETCHED GLASS SKULL TUMBLERS
What you’ll need:
- Printable skull template
- Set of tumblers
- Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream
- Paint brush
- Contact paper
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Ruler
- X-Acto knife
- Cutting mat
- Tape
1. Cut out a skull from the provided free template and tape it to the top of your contact paper.
2. Using an X-Acto knife, cut out the skull image. Be sure to keep all the pieces (like the tiny nose and eyes). You will need these to complete the piece.
3. Peel the sticky part of the contact paper and apply it to the front of the tumbler. Stick the small pieces (nose and eyes) down as well.
4. Brush on a thick coating of Amour Etch. Be careful to apply the cream to just the area being etched. Leave Armour Etch on for 5-10 minutes. Rinse the cream off under lukewarm water, then peel off all the contact paper and clean the glass.
You will be left with a spooky etched skull to enjoy while sipping your favorite beverage.
PICK YOUR POISON BANNER
What you’ll need:
- Pick Your Poison Banner Template
- Yarn
- Double-sided tape
- Ruler
- X-Acto knife
- Dowel rod
- Cutting mat
1. Print and cut out the banner template along all the edges, and make tiny notches on both sides of the banner, on the front side where the guide lines are.
2. Flip the banner over and place a piece of double sided tape along the length of the banner, above the notches.
3. Fold the front of the banner to the back. This will create a tunnel for the dowel rod to fit through.
4. Tie yarn to both sides of the dowel rods. Add a tassel for extra flair.
Now just find the perfect spot and hang it up.
