Free Halloween cupcake toppers (with pumpkin spice cupcake recipe)

YES, Halloween is technically just one night. But if we can make Christmas a full month of events and parties and shameless dessert-grabbing, we can stretch Halloween snacking over a few weeks, right? Agreed? Cool. So here are some free Halloween cupcake toppers to help you turn ordinary cupcakes into seasonally appropriate treats for your grateful co-workers or book club or children.

Free Halloween cupcake topper supplies: Tape, toothpicks and skewers, scissors, printable toppers, and cupcakes.

FREE HALLOWEEN CUPCAKE TOPPERS

Supplies:

  • Free printable Halloween cupcake toppers (print on heavy paper or card stock for best results)
  • Toothpicks and/or wooden skewers
  • Clear tape
  • Craft knife or scissors
  • Cupcakes (store bought, from a mix, or made from the recipe below)

Make our free Halloween Cupcake Toppers by cutting out toppers and sticking toothpicks to the backs with tape.

To make:

Just print and cut out the toppers, tape toothpicks or skewers to the backs, and stick them in the cupcakes. (Add one per cupcake or have fun with multiples!)

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes


Servings 24 cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamom
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1/3 c brown sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 3/4 c milk
  • 1 can pumpkin puree

Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Grease 24 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.

  3. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.

  4. Beat vegetable oil, white sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until light and fluffy. The mixture should be noticeably light in color.

  5. Add the room-temperature eggs one at a time, allowing each to blend into the mixture before adding the next.

  6. Stir in milk and pumpkin puree.

  7. Stir in the flour mixture, mixing until just incorporated. Do not over mix.

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin cups and bake until golden, about 22 minutes.

  9. Cool in muffin tin five minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting


Servings 24 cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese (1 package)
  • 1/4 c butter (softened)
  • 2 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer in a bowl until smooth.

  2. Beat in the confectioners' sugar slowly until incorporated.

  3. Add the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon; beat until fluffy.

  4. Frost when cupcakes are completely cool.
