DIY: Simple pumpkin decorating with markers

Self-proclaimed Super Nerd Marceli C. is a designer for Hallmark Gold Crown who specializes in creating what we call “licensed” gifts—featuring everything from Disney’s Little Mermaid to Star Wars and Marvel Comics. She loves wood-working, riding her bike and saying “Huzzah!”. And we love working with her! Marceli’s here today to show us an easy way to decorate pumpkins this year…no knives needed.

After gathering a few supplies and some awesome pumpkin “canvases” of varying sizes, some of my incredibly talented Hallmark friends and I came together to doodle for an hour.

Some of us were inspired by traditional spooky Halloween characters, others by simple geometric patterns, and some even by hand lettering. The difference in the scale of the pumpkins created a great look when they were clustered together.

Much like last year’s pumpkin decorating post, there is no need to wield any sharp objects (which will help your pumpkins last longer, too!). All you need for this simple pumpkin decorating DIY is the following:

  • black permanent markers
  • white paint markers
  • metallic permanent markers
