10 must-read craft blogs

If you’re the creative type, you know how it feels to discover a new way of…well, creating. There’s something pretty dang awesome about the discoveries you make when you experiment with a new medium or material. When you lose yourself in the process. When you make something out of nothing. And, often, when you share the project—or the results—with someone you love.

To start the New Year off with some inspiration, our team rounded up our top 10 must-read DIY and craft blogs. You’ll find everything from delightful party decorations to modern interior designs…from homey recipes to fun how-tos.

Here’s to a year of discovery!

OH HAPPY DAY

Simply put, Oh Happy Day author Jordan Ferney wants to be the best party resource on the Internet. And she is well on her way. Her inspiring projects are bright, bold, playful—and have us making up excuses to throw a party.

100 LAYER CAKE

The ladies behind lifestyle site 100 Layer Cake know a thing or two about celebrating life’s most important occasions. While they do share inspiration for elevating everyday events, their wedding, shower, and baby categories take the cake. (Pardon the pun.) We were thrilled when they announced their delightfully feminine collaboration with Hallmark Signature!

LARK&LINEN

Warm and approachable, Jacquelyn at Lark&Linen is an Internet darling. An interior designer at heart and by trade, she has an unerring eye for beautiful things. Her vibe is cozy and sweet, as are her life hacks and delicious recipes.

HOMEY OH MY

Homey Oh My is a DIY home and lifestyle blog dedicated to modern style. Author Amy, a stylist and content creator, infuses her decor and DIYs with a clean, Scandinavian influence, and often incorporates natural materials. Her smart, simple ideas are the perfect fit for the consummate minimalist.

A BEAUTIFUL MESS

What’s not to like about a blog focused on “creating happiness every day”? The sisters behind A Beautiful Mess apply their bright, bubbly, carefree style to everything they touch, including projects, apps, books, classes and their own subscription boxes. We can’t get enough of their cheerful home, style and craft ideas.

HONESTLY WTF

Erica and Lauren of HonestlyWTF create stylish crafts that look truly high end. Distressed and dazzling denim…trend-setting jewelry and jewel-encrusted shoes…the editors’ knack for making everyday items beautiful is honestly out of this world. And their sister site HonestlyYUM? I mean, come on.

FREUTCAKE

Freutcake author Leah Bergman presents some of the most creative (and delicious) food and food-related crafts on the Internet. Her down-to-earth recipes and crafts are artful and fun, and have us thinking that maybe, just maybe, this is the year we achieve Domestic Goddess status.

HOUSE THAT LARS BUILT

Wonderfully whimsical. That’s how we describe Brittany Jepsen’s The House that Lars Built. From epic balloon arches to toilet paper candy garlands (say what?!), this girl is a pro at making life less boring. Collaborating with her on a holiday Hallmark Signature line was a delight as well!

THE APPLE OF MY DIY

Do you have a black thumb? Corrie Beth Hogg of The Apple of my DIY can help you with that! Her paper plant tutorials are crazy cool and—let’s be honest—probably a lot easier than keeping the real thing alive. Especially those finicky maidenferns.

P.S. – I MADE THIS…

If you see it and you love it, you can find a way to make it. That’s P.S.- I Made This… founder Erica Domesek’s philosophy. Dubbed “Fashion’s Queen of DIY” by Elle Magazine, she shares trendy projects ranging from playful pom-pom sandals to gold pineapple bookends. (P.S. We’re game!)

We’d love to know where you go for ideas and inspiration. What are your must-read craft blogs—and why do you love them?
